This course is ideal for Englsih language teachers/ tutors/ trainers and educators, with a minimum pre-intermediate level of English, who wish to develop their fluency and communication skills to express themselves more confidently. The course also has a focus on Methodology and is designed to introduce teachers to a range of techniques in teaching English using different resources and methods.
The course aims to encourage teachers to take on board various new or refreshed ideas in Methodology and be able to adapt these to their own teaching situation. The course employs a highly interactive and practical approach. Input sessions involve multi-media, and include videos, and lessons are conducted using cutting-edge technology such as Interactive Whiteboards. The overall approach taken is experiential and involves both individual and group work, with practical feedback being given on participants’ communication styles and skills. The methodology sessions will include taking a look at current EFL teaching approaches & methodologies which will be demonstrated through a range of activities. The input sessions are designed in the form of workshops, with full participation from the attendees. Participants are expected to take an active role in all sessions, maximising their use of English, and experiencing for themselves the activities covered in the sessions. During the course, teachers will be asked to reflect upon the course and come up with a Personal Development Action Plan and select activities which they would like to try out in their own teaching contexts.
