FAQs

Courses at ETI

1. What is the difference between Executive Business English courses and Business Communication Courses?
Executive Business English (EBE) and Business Communication (Bus Com) address different needs and objectives.

  • Bus Com targets areas which professionals need to communicate with other speakers of English in their everyday working world. However, these areas do not only involve language. In order to be effective, the particular skills that these areas involve need to be developed and improved. Bus Com combines language input with training in the soft management skills - presentations, meetings, negotiation, telephoning, business correspondence.

The main difference on this course is that actual training of soft management skills is done.

Book this course if you want to become more effective at presentations, meetings, negotiations, telephoning and business writing.

  • EBE focuses more on a broader aspect of business. The aims on this course are to develop language and fluency in a business context – importance is given to grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary, and skills such as speaking, listening, reading and writing are developed. This development and practice is done in business-related,situations, so participants will take part in simulations, case studies and roleplays which could take the form of meetings, presentations, etc.
The difference in this course is that although language can be practised in a meeting simulation, for example, there is no actual training in how to conduct an effective meeting.
Book this course if you would like your business language to improve and to become generally more fluent in business situations..
